History

Inter-Continental University of the Caribbean (ICUC) has been founded by Curaçao Institute for Social & Economic Studies (CURISES) as its brand name to continue offering high quality academic and professional training programs. Curises was founded in 1994. In 2008 the Foundation became completely independent from the State University of Curaçao, and is acting since then as one of the 3 Universities on the island. ICUC is the only university on the island of Curaçao with programs at the level of bachelor, master and doctorate.

Goal

The goal of ICUC is to offer professional and academic education as well as scientific research in the field of Social Sciences and the field of Economics & Business in the broadest sense to deepen the afore-mentioned education. The Foundation offers its education and research by:
  • Recruiting highly qualified local and international (academic) staff.
  • Entering into alliances with highly qualified educational institutes.

Quality assurance

For quality assurance, The Foundation has the following organs: the Academic Council as an advisory body to the board of directors; a Committee for Education and Research may be appointed for a particular program and is responsible for developing, evaluating and submitting proposals to improve the program.
